3 LG Cents, 3 IHs, 4 silver, some bullets and a 2nd Corp Badge

Hello All,

Good day at a new spot!! Started off digging 2 bullets and the clover looking thing right after getting there.. then had 3 large cents in the next 1/2 hour! spent a few more hours and dug another 3 Ihs, including a 1859 fatty.. 2 war nickels.. the silver dimes with some wheats in a little pocket spill.. and another V nickle.. so in about 3 hours or so of digging over two days.. total for the spot is:

3 large cents
1 Flying Eagle
4 IHs
2 V Nickles
5 silvers
A Gardner and a flatten 3 ringer..
a bunch of wheats?

I'm still waiting to verify that it is a 2nd Corp Badge.. but really looks like a lot of the ones I have been able to find via google... I just don't get my hopes up since I have found things before I thought were badges and turned out not to be... but it's hard not to think 2nd Corp as soon as you see anything that looks like a clover.. esp when they came through my area..

Well..there is a1828, a 182? and the third is worn smooth.. can just make enough detail to see it is a flowing hair... better then last week!! I had a banner day of 8 coppers and 4 of them are slugs!! So..I'm happy with these... ;-)

Your "clover looking thing" appears to be a Corp Badge....Nice finds!

It does doesn't it?? I started to write that... but then left it out.. wanted to see how mny others though that without me pointing that out... the area is right.. they camp through here.. and this property is within eyesight of a large NY camp we finished two years ago... it is the most intersting relic in the lot!!

Dang Monkey.....Nice finds right there. What do the V nickles come up like on your DFX....VDI wise....Thanks..I have never found one, but I do hunt in areas that are old enough. Just don't know if I am missing them. Thanks for the help. Nice digs again buddy..... jgas

I was digging everything that rang solid at 24 or so and above.. and probably dug some that rang below that since I found bullets and didn't want to miss buttons. So, I'd guess 28-32 ish?? If I had to pick a VDI number. Honestly, I usually go more by how it sounds.. how deep it is.. and where I am.. yard vs. field..
