Had a great day out in North Nottinghamshire organised by the Derby Artifacts Recovery Club. One of the Guys found a Silver Denarius - and amongst us all we must have found a few hundred buttons.
Here are some of my finds:

This 1780's 'Parys Mountain Copper Trade Penny Token' sadly cut in half but still a nice find. Bears the words '... TO PAY THE BEARER...' and around the edge '... LONDON LIVERPOOL OR A ...'
The obverse shows some remaining Oak leaves and the bottom part of a Druids Head:

More information on the token here The Parys mountain copper trade tokens

My first button of the day (and there were many) was this Oval-shaped 'Bronze' button - 8-pointed star and dot design, about 14mm long and 10mm wide - remains of some gold gilt showing - any idea how old it is?

I then went on to find two more 'Army General Service Buttons':

A load of 'holed' and 'eyed' buttons:

And this minute button but with so much detail - again, not sure of age:

A load of other stuff including a 1 oz. cup weight:

and 2 greenies:

A nice day, not too far to drive - and the sun shone for us all day! :icon_sunny:
Best wishes.

Good for a Rally, as you know I don't do well at all at these events :icon_thumright:

The first is an 18th Century Cufflink (if oval) - well 1 half of 1 pair.

The last button is a similar age (late 18th) :)

Great - Thanks for the ID - I'll check at the next meeting if anyone found the other one.
