Back to relic hunting last weekend. We had a couple of firsts, John dug his first 1850's Eagle tongue plate and a few feet away I dug my first intact clay pipe. I also dug several clay marbles, toe plates and suspender buckles, some lead and brass rivets. Lots of spoon handles and forks were in the fire, trash pit. Most of these relics were past 1.5 feet and some were 2 feet down. The bricks were lined up in some spots at 2 feet deep. Tons of square nails, broken glass, beef and chicken bones and a lot of different iron pieces. Any ideas on the brass lyon with the snake coming from it's head would be appreciated. We had a great time and got a good workout!

That's a great perspective, what would it signify?

Thanks and your absolutely right, he knows his stuff. Being the first one I had seen I was thinking it had a lead back but it did not. They seem pretty fragile like as thin as a Jeff Davis Hat Badge. Thanks again.

Yes I am priveledged to be able to call him a close friend.Lead filling them would not have been a bad idea,as they are pretty flimsy, but they were basically a throw away item I beleive, they came with the belt and pants.I love em!!!!
