OLD Stonehouse in Southwestern, PA hunt - Colonial Coppers & Large Cent!

Long time no post, but a friend and I decided to put in a little time hunting an old abandoned stone house in historic Washington county, Pa after work today...

Here's some cell phone pictures of the site:

And here are the two colonial coppers and 1810 Large Cent:

All of which are in pretty poor shape, and the date is only readable on the Large cent. I'll post some better pictures of the finds when my friend sends me his pics, and I get some batteries for my digital camera.

By the way - This was my first serious outing!!!!!! :headbang: (I've only played around in my mom's yard with my F-2 finding clad LOL) My friend has been detecting for years and showed me the ropes :notworthy:

My friend found the Colonial copper that is in better shape than mine, but I lucked out and pulled the 1810 large cent and the other beat up colonial out of the old black soil ;D

We also found numerous bullets, 4 wheaties, and a lock in the duration of 2ish hours.

Like I said more pics coming soon! HH! Thanks for looking!

Very nice! You must be liking that F2 right about now.

When an experienced person brings along a newbie who finds three coppers on his first real outing, there's a term for that. ;D
Seriously, that's a nice hunt and looks like a great site.

Since you're just starting out, here's a good habit to develop. Put those coins in 2x2 flips with location info. Keep a pic of the location if possible, or circle the area on a town map.

Then, years later, you won't simply have a jumbled box of finds with no idea where any of them came from. Because trust me, you will forget some details that you didn't think you'd ever forget. :D

Good Advice
