Good evening Fellow TNET members. I had a wonderful, long day with Terry (Everly) who is also a member of Buckeyteasurehunters.com. I thought I had a lot of endurance :o Terry is a wonderful guy who REALLY loves this hobby as much as I do........and he won't quit on you halfway through the day. He just says, "I have all day or until dark. It doesn't matter to me." So, we hunted from 10 AM until 6:PM. on his day off. So, you get the picture.

He dug some nice finds as he will post them soon. I had a lukewarm day except for the new spot we acquired. I have drove past this place hundreds of times and finally got the nerve to knock on the door. To say the least, Carol (divorced) was the nicest person I have ever met in a while. She didn't mind if we detected and even left for a few hours while we hunted her yard. The place dates from at least 1874 as it is on my map. The house has been stuccoed and the 2 massive chimneys capped. It sits by the Penn Central Railroad (which is now gone) 1976 I believe, which also carried Lincoln's body through Woodstock on it's way back to Illinois. She said we are welcome to come back any time even if she is gone. What even helped more to seal the deal is that she is dating a friend of Terry's. What a small world. What made this hunt even better is that she provided us a picture of the home taken in 1903. On the back of this large picture it mentions the name Kenfield. Sure enough, it's the name on my 1874 Platte map.

Todays finds are:
1 token from my home town of Urbana. It says on the front: The Delmar, Urbana, Ohio. On the back. Made by the Wadsworth Engraving Company, Springfield, Ohio
1 1934 Buffalo Nickle
1 10 Gauge shotgun shell brass which I have never seen a 10 gauge yet with these marking
1 old pocketwatch..Brass with no face
1 dollar coin from 2000
1 piece of decorative copper??
Between the 2 of us, tons of clad.

This is going to be a fun place to hunt as it is 2 acres. Even with Terry's E-trac, the targets are deep. I don't know why as the other older place I hunted the targets were 4-6. Terry was digging wheat's at 7-8. So the LC's and silver may be deeper??

Thanks for Looking. Be sure to look for his post as he found something very unique. Thanks Ron

Man,you get the greatest sites to hunt.In Metro NY it's very difficult to secure permission to hunt private property.

I'm sorry :-\ If it wasn't for my families name and a small town environment it would be different. However, I am a good salesman, too ;D

Nice finds. I need to work up the nerve to knock on someones door too. My mom and dad live in a historic neighborhood. Lots of old houses.

Great pictures! Looks like you have a nice site there. I like the pocket watch. Actually it's all cool. I have found a lot of shotgun shell bases but not many 10 gauge.

From the looks of that yard, there has to be a lot of cool stuff still there.
