I finally got out for the 1st time in over 6 weeks for a hunt. Went back to an area where we have hunted previously but there was one area that we couldn't hunt due to the long grass. Grass was down today so was able to swing the coil. Managed to cross another one off the list...18th century sword hilt (guard)!! I think it is French infantry which would fit right in with some previous items recovered from this site. Also got a few crusty coppers...1820 token is the only recognizeable one...a couple musketballs, a piece of cast off flint and a very small tombac shoe or breech buckle.

Probably the last hunt for me so I was glad to get another off the list!

Way to go, Romeo, on that tombac knee buckle and other relics. The buckle frame is my favorite out of all of them! :headbang:

I've found a ton of shoe buckle frames and a couple completes but this is the first tombac buckle frame that I have found!

Good to see you were able to get out. I'll bet you enjoyed the fresh air, it sure beats that lovely diaper smell!. Way to go on the sword guard, you must have been doing a dance when you found it. And even better, you were able to find a match in the book. 6 weeks is way to long to have to wait to get out, I have an idea. Get IH or IP to baby sit for you, that way you can get out more often, and your wife gets a break to!.

We dug a ton of iron yesterday and every piece I was hoping for a cannonball or trade axe! But I am more than happy with the hilt!
