That is too bad about the construction going on there. There should be more large cents there! I hope you guys find some more there, Jeff!

In the top pic the piece of lead on the right looks like a fired round ball the hoocha... whatever you said is part of the insides of an old car battery, Trust me on this :o) I think who ever said the lead bootie is a knife handle is right on with that and I think like was also said the measuring device is part of a thermometer. I hope you guys get back there has to be some more stuff there.

I would be all over that spot. I run heavy equipment and some of the places I've cleared almost make me sick. We were clearing a place that was a camp of the 4th Alabama. I was on a dozer pushing dirt. When one of the pans went by and dump it's load a bunch of green glass was in it. I know they went through a pit or hut but had not time to check it out. :o( Sickening. I did dig quite a few things on that site though including 4 AVC buttons and a nice inkwell. I hope you all get some great stuff.

Jeff, nice finds! I hope you get to hunt the hell out of that place, cause I'm sure there's LOTS more goodies hidin' there.
Anyway, make sure to check you bird bands for info on how to report them.
I just got a nice reward-check for calling an 1-800# to report a bird band that I found detecting.
I'll be posting my story tomorrow.
Again, Nice Finds! :hello2:

Jeff,

that large cent says "come back soon, y'hear?". I would be all over that site, like the others said.

An LC day is always a good day.

That measuring relic thingie is pretty interesting.

Can't wait to see what else you find there. I wonder what the site used to be.
