Good thing it was bust side down in the doyt ( dirt ) and the date and everything is legible.

My oldest LG cent was that 1795 Thickie I dug back 2 years ago.

Man I miss diggin colonial coins -n- relics

Gonna try ta come home in March so I can hunt my GW inagural button field

    Go dig a chain now

    Congrats homie

    D.

This brings up an interesting topic.........do we think this coin sat face down for 200+ years and the fertilizer (or standing water) killed the reverse and left the obverse in good shape??

200+ years of frost heaves and field plowing didn't flip this coin at some point??

I have many Large Cents, Indian Heads and Wheats that have the same problem, one side good, one side bad........ and many times this happens in a place that hasn't seen any fertilizer........very interesting.......thoughts anyone?

    HH all!!

    Greg
I was told Acid rain will do that over years if the coin is not disturbed or deep enough not to heave Acid rain has been around since the coal industry started a few hundred years ago
