I don't think I ever found a silver thimble. They seem to be much more unusual than silver coins, even. Nice collection!

I found one in the wall here in my home when I redid the windows in my bedroom. Silver.
I have a feeling that thimbles are good luck, especially silver ones and particularly a found silver one.

I'll take a picture and post it.

I love finding thimbles, the fur trade ones are real nice finds, I don't have any silver ones like yours but I'm still looking, very nice collection you have there!

According to my 101 yr old neighbor, a lot of "poor" ladies had at least one silver thimble. They were only used at sewing bees and quilting bees as kind of a show off status symble. The every day thimbles were tin, wood, or bone.
