1813 HOME & CELLAR HOLE HUNT*COPPERS!

sniffy had permission for us to hunt a 1813 colonial home up in his neck of the woods.it was kinda early to go to home so,we started at a cellar hole that he knew of.
I was the first to strike a copper.my :icon_thumleft: 30TH :icon_thumright: for this year! can't get a date but it's a Vermont copper.the iron shoe buckle was in the same hole with it.
About a half hour later he came over holding a copper.a 1801 i think? Draped bust large cent.i saw this cool lookin tree and had to get in it :dontknow:
a few buttons and not much else.then we headed to the homesite.
sniffy pulled a few things and a 1902 IH.
i got 5 IH's...1864(can't see any "L" so...),1874,1875,1890 & 1902.
a 1864 2 cent piece,4 wheaties & a 1923 buffalo nickel.
not a bad day and a pleasure to hunt with sniffy
have a happy thanksgiving all!
dave

That was a super day for you guys, what a terrific mixture of relics and coins spanning a long period of time from one site.

The Vermont copper looks like a RR -16 and that be a 1788 for a date. Fairly certain on the ID.

If it is RR 16 than it is the most common variety I believe, both my son and I have RR-16s.....

I just compared with my RR16 and now I am not sure, time to get the books out. Naw, I will stick with the RR-16 for lack of seeing any other close to the Obverse design, from what little I can see on the Reverse, that too looks like RR-16. )LOL, don't see enough VT coppers posted to get a good "feel" for them.

Don
Don looks like to me it is an RR-16. Comparing the plates I see for the obverse The "T" lines up and the "M" is slightly inset to the head. Appears to be an RR-16. Nice ID..........Hogge
