first silver of 2010 in Tx + Aztec dog

Second hunt of the new year gets me a 1961 D silver quarter. It was 4 inches deep and read slightly above a quarter, but that is normal for silver with my machine. I'm going to try for at least 1 silver coin each month this year and I've got a good head start. Also found this Aztec dog tag thing. I guess it could be something other then a dog but that's what I thought of. Well, I hope you all find loads of silver this year. HH.

Wish I could do some diggin,but I'm stuck on a towboat! I believe the tag depict's a deer and possibly off a key chain,but could be wrong. Nice to find silver anytime.

Nice finds!
It sure is a great feeling seeing that silver reeded edge sticking out of a plug. The way the winter's going here in Illinois it'll be a while before I get a chance to dig one.

allen - I know. I've only ever found one that looks better if you can imagine that. It was a 1959 and looked like it was minted and dropped in the same day. I don't think it's posted here. It was a BTN find. (Before Treasure Net)

mikewaz - My favorite is when I can see the edge in the hole. It's cold here as well. About 35 degrees average on the last couple of hunts. But not as much snow as Illinois.
