Hi dan Thats one grand looking rock :o :o :o Good luck what ever you decide to do with it. Seems a few are "jealous" HH

Well, I for one am thankful for what you DID post. It was nice to see a rock like that when you didn't have to post diddly squat. It is YOUR prerogative on what you decide to do with this rock. It is nice that people have advice to give but when they become pushy, it is a big turn-off.
Gold fever reincarnated!
Thanks again for sharing your spectacular find!
Dave.

I agree with John Adams and Muddyhandz and am just thankful you shared the pic and story with us.
Yeah, everyone always wants details and has suggestions on what they would do but who cares what he and his partners decide to do and their reasoning for it. It's none of our business.

Thanks for sharing with us DanB and hope you find more!

Wow, crushed and split? OUCH!!!!!!!! The find of a lifetime and ya make a few grand split a few ways... That whole rock, which does look like it is loaded with gold... and I have seen my share, woulda been worth MAJOR bank left as a specimen.
Nice find for sure, and certainly your decision to make...Just not the one I would have made and not my place to say the wrong one WAS made.....It just is not the way I would have gone. I envy you that find though.

I Havn't seen anyone Say anything to
him that was out of Line.

Just members giving opinions
on what they would do & Think he should have.
Personally I Still hope it's whole.
Not just for their Pockets
But for Our Banner

Agreed Jeff. :)
Just the usual lively debate on an interesting find.
I assume, if the right pictures are produced, it should rightly make the banner :icon_thumright:

Yep all I need is a Nice sharp "Square"

If its none of our business then no need to post on the world wide web. I can answer TP's suggestion easily - I'm not jealous, I have little interest in nuggets or naturally formed gold (or cash), I prefer other objects of history! However, details are important in our line of interest, if they are not then join another hobby. (ie what was the purity & total weight of gold!)

Plus answer everyones question - WHY break it up?
[/quote]

That's what's amazing...you have little interest in gold yet you feel the need to know the purity and weight and you feel he owes you that because he posted the pics on the www. What makes the details so important for something you have little interest in? What if his other two partners don't want to share that info with the world. He showed us pics, told us his story - be happy with that.

I am glad for you and whatever you decide to do with it is entirely up to you (the whole group)... I know from experience that when you hunt with a group things can get real crazy if something nice is found. One or two can get worried that they might not get their fair share and that ruins it for the whole bunch. Congratulations on the great find. That's a once in a lifetime find for sure!!!!!

Hello All,
Sometimes a person simply wants some things to be private...
How much do you make at work each year?
How much does your wife spend at Victoria's Seceret each month?
That's right...None of my business...
I respect Dan for keeping the details private...
Not just for the obvious reasons of income and taxes...
That's between him and Uncle Sam...
But also, who wants to start the next modern day gold rush?
Keeping these maters private will discourage most of those cliamjumpers...
Thanks Dan for sharing your story...Sweet Rock...
