Ring inscription

What do you guys think of this? Age? (looks old)and it Says 1/30 14k - R G P. the symbol at the bottom of the ring is a U with an arrow going through it.... I tried to trace what it looks like... what do you all think?

Oh the stones... are scratched and chipped... so I doubt they are real.

you got the "rolled gold plate" part right -- so 1 golden attaboy point awarded to you ( no doubt and you are 100% correct I agree) --but the 1/30th 14 K (gold content by weight * ) was my added bit to the overall ID --- lots of folks do not know what that type of fraction stands for in that type of marking .

And now, I believe, is ultimate ID. It's Uncas Co, the famous costume jewellery manufacturer in the 1920's + I mean they were around earlier but that mark is from 1920+

Bummer one of the stones is missing!
Costume jewelry is a big market, especially from the twentys.
Still it is just a really cool find, congrats!

Uncas Co. also manufactured no less than the Army Good Conduct Medal, The Silver Star and the Bronze Star.
The company has been around since 1911. The mark, "U" with arrow has been used (as mentioned above) since 1920 and was still in use through at least 1988.

There is some confusion with their marks because on their modern items they use the same mark as in 1911 which is U with double arrows. I believe yours is a vintage ring of 1930's - 1950's. You can contact them to have it dated precisely.
