    Worlds smallest 1964 copper penny

Found this today at the ball Field. Almost through it out thinking it was junk until I saw Lincolns head. Has any one ever seen any thing like this. Thanks for looking!

I'd go with knightwalker on that. Then again in 1964 you could still buy penny candy, or a Bazooka bubble gum, maybe that coin knows its value has shrunken over time and reduced its size to match its value. I doubt if that sae penny will be visible at this rate in another 2 years.

That is a regular size penny. We just have been too polite to mention all of the GIANT coins that you have been posting.

Re: Worlds smallest 1964 copper penny

I have seen a shrunken 1976 bicenntennial quarter. My daughter got an American Girl doll and I guess they come with miniature coins based on the period style clothing they are wearing. As I recall it looked pretty real but about half the diameter of the real thing.

Just asked my daughter and she gave me the latest catalog. There are a steel penny, a buffalo nickel, the quarter, and a "pretend coin" listed. Apparently, the dolls change every year. So, could have been from an older doll with a 1964 penny.

    Just a guess.

    That's funny KW.

Hey Jog, I had one just like that back in early '80, but can't remember the date on it. Can't even remember where I got it from or where it is now. But I do remember it being shinny like a brand
new penny. I remember showing it to my coworkers while working with drill rig operators in Imperial
Valley, California. It seem like I remember having it with me when I moved back to Arkansas in
1983. I've often wondered about why it existed.

    Kanyontreasures...
Do you know what yours are made out of? This one appears to be copper, it's worn and looks just like a real penny does when they come out of the ground. Has that reddish look and the edges are worn on the corners. I would like to see some of the ones you have if you have any pics. Thanks for looking!
