Went back to the same site i found my Conn. copper started searching around the foundation,i always search the walls inside the foundation never found anything untill yesterday.Started searching the walls as i always do i got a quarter reading about 6 inches took out a couple of rocks and there it was a 1786 Vermont Baby Head, look at the condition of this coin.I have been soaking it in olive oil and hitting it with a soft toothbrush. Is there any method i can use to get the dirt out.Plus i have 2 unknow buttons.I live in Terryville Conn and found that Vermont Baby Head so i guess its possible to find any colonial coin.

I think you need to remove the olive oil from the coin before you can get the rest of the dirt out, As I understand it, olive oil will seal the dirt under it, I dont think peroxide would be a good idea either. Thats a great coin, Ive never seen one, and the buttons are awesome also. Yeah, anytime I find a large cent I usually just rub it under running water, clean it the best i can and just stick it away. unless its toast, then I go for the peroxide.
Great find, congrats on the banner

Congratulations on making the banner. Refreshing to see a Post Colonial on the banner. I still havent found a Vermont but it would be rare to find one here in Pa. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to seeing your future posts. :hello2:
