I decided to head out for about an hour near an old house.
I found some junk and then I get a hit reading quarter on my GTA.
I dug around 3 inches and popped out a silver quarter.
My 1st time out this year - hopefully this will continue....
The other pieced shown reads RHODE ISLAND 79337
Not sure what this is.

Nice quarter!

The Rhode Island plate must be a registration plate of some kind.

Those old copper roof nail thingies with the octagonal heads on 'em are sure a booger when you're hunting in some yards.? They read "penny" almost every time on my GTA's meter.? I have a feeling they're from the 1920's or so.? The first house I ever hunted where there were a bunch of 'em was built in 1929.

That makes sense about the registration plate, the old house is owned by the state. And those old copper things are all over the place and they read around a penny on my GTA 550
Thanks for the info!!
Joe
