If the silver coin is true it may be an owl type tetradrachm 431- 393 bc. See this link http://rg.ancients.info/owls/. The closest I could see was the tenth coin down :icon_thumleft:.

Of course it could be a modern forgery.

I didn't see the other pics the first time... wow...that silver one is sweet, hope it's the real deal. the bottom pic looks like a pretty toasty matron head large cent. you might want to post these in the 'what is it' forum and post a recognizable coin along with it for a sizing scale.

Your Greek coin (the one with the face of Athena on one side and the owl on the other) is called a tetradrachm. It is quite old (415-454B.C.) and is worth about $700.

More info here:

http://www.ancientresource.com/lots/greek/coins_athens.html

Please note, the tetradrachm owl coins are one of the most popular forgeries out there. Yours looks authentic but you better get some expert to confirm (and if you have a scale, weigh it to see if it is around 17 grams).

The top one looks like a swedish 5 oere coin to me. You named the foto something like svergiecoin.jpg. If there is "Sverige" written on it- that means Sweden. Maybe Tnet member EUcitizen can help. That greek silver coin is very nice.

Yeah the bottom 3 coins appear to maybe be older coins but they are so corroded not sure how best to clean them up enough to tell what they are or date them. the others above the bottom 3 appear to maybe be tokens of some kind. The 2nd from the top ..have no idea !!! thanks for the comments on the Athena coin. Theres a major coin show this week here in Ft Worth Tx ..maybe I can get some good info there. If anyone else has any ideas or thoughts I'd appreciate them.

If you are thinking of selling them, don't do any cleaning. Since you are going to a coin show, I would let the experts there tell you what they think after they review/appraise them. If the ones you think need cleaning turn out to be nominally worthless (I don't know what worthless to you would be) then I would probably clean them. There are a lot of smart people here who can tell you the least abusive way of cleaning them. Warm filtered or distilled water and a toothpick with some mild detergent might be Ok.

Nice finds, but sorry you had to get them the way you did.

Your bottom row appears to be badly corroded large cents, and the "coins" above them are actually trade tokens.
