Just a walk in the park swinging my detector. Not a bad haul.

I had to make a trip to town for the wife. So she said I could go play. :laughing9: So went out to the new park. Lot of trash so hunted full disc. I found $5.65 in clad (17 quarters - 12 dimes - 20 pennies). I'm don't know what the record is here, but $2.05 of that I found in one hole. Also found 1978 hotwheels, roof caved in, I think a little pewter car that came off a trophy, a key, a barrette and some kind of screw and nut. Hunted for around 4 1/2 hours. Thanks for looking.
:hello: HH in 2010 :hello2:

the screw and nut are off of a bicycle brake cable, it is the adjuster for taking up slack. nice finds.

Thank you wwwtimmcp. I figure it had something to do with cable or wire. because of the slit.

nice haul.....i don't know the record but, several of us have over a 100 coin day.
Thank you Randall61. Yea, I doubt if I ever get one of those days. But I was happy with the 7 quarters and 3 dimes in the same hole. I did find 11 pennies in same hole last year.

I tried doing that at first. All I was getting was pull tabs and can slaw or soda/beer cans. I was hoping for the preverbial gold jewlery, even the nickel signal turned out to be little pieces of can slaw. That got tiring fast so went to almost full discrimate mode and only hunted the good beeps. My detector is 10 years old and it has meter that shows it might be anything from iron/foil to $1. But doesn't mean it is what the dot says it is. Cans register from SCap to zinc/penny. I usually can tell them from how wide the beep is, but never know whether it is a can or a bunch of change scattered. I had that happen one day. I thought it was a can and turned out to be a bunch of pennies and nickels. Good thing instinct told me to check.
I plan on going back over the area when I get one of the newer detectors.
