Hi all:

I didn't have a firm plan for detecting this weekend as a couple previous plans fell through. I decided to hit a 1900 house that I started hunting last fall. My previous hunt here had found nothing of note in the two yards I covered. First, I hit a nearby older house/barn site. After finding lots of large rust relics I opted to go back to the 1900 house and search the unhunted side yard. Right under a bird feeder I got a good signal and was thrilled to pop out my first Barber dime. (1911) Two steps later I got another good signal and dug my first Barber quarter! (1916) Now I'm really pumped!! :headbang: Regridding the area unearthed a '23 Mercury dime. I'll be smiling all week and you can bet I'll return for more gridwork. :icon_pirat:

HH and thanks for looking,
Michiganne

Thanks Bob! Both Barbers were only 4" deep or so. The soil there had been a bit disturbed as someone had gotten a truck stuck nearby.

Those are two Major finds off the old dug coin wish list. You make us, well, proud.
Now no more for a week or two.
