3 CW Buckle spot is now is a 4 Civil War Buckle spot

Monkeyboy Jr and I went back out and hunted the same spot where we have found 3 buckles.... he managed to dig another Breast Plate bring the total to four!! I added up everything we found over the last day and:

1 US Cartridge Box Plate
3 Breast Plate
1 Rosette
I Springfield end piece
Knapsack Hook
4 eagle buttons
1 Eagle I Button
1 Staff Button
1 NY Cuff button
I Flower Button
2 Ball Buttons
4 Flat Buttond
107 Bullets
1857 Half Dime
1 Stud

All in all... I'd say a heck of a spot!!

The last item I'm posting I am not sure what it is... I thought it was a tongue but it is flat so I am pretty isn't any ideas??

4 plates in three days plus all of the extras is a banner find in my book! Congrats jr on your second plate. The boys are jealous!

that place must be "buckle plate heaven" -- clearly as the NY boys rested --they were being set up by the VA boys --for a permant "rest" . -- the spring made for a natural rest spot of course the locals knew that and planned accordingly.

walking into a well laid ambush often doesn't leave a lot of folks left on the recieving side to talk about it --.

Seems ole' Virginny has a lot of undeveloped land left still prime for relic hunting...heck, the entire state was the scene of 3 1/2 years of conflict and travel for 2 huge foraging armies.

Where I live in Georgia USED to be prime for hunting. Now, well, good luck finding a spot that isn't a condo, wal-mart, or Hispanic Check Cashing place

MB, Could the spring be where they rested, then went into the ambush, and then retreated back to the spring? Would that be
a reason that you are finding a whole lot of great stuff? You and your son are getting after it.....and I was stationed in VA for
4 years, and then retired and lived there for another 3......but wasn't hunting much, those days. Certainly never had close to a
day like youall had. Great hunts......great research

Thanks Joe! Yeah, I need have you and Ty over for a dig! This spot was really just a freak of relic hunting.. if you saw it.. you would never believe it!! I was walking through it to hit a "better" looking area up the mountain.. one that was actually flat!! ;-)
