(LATE POST)Sunday's 2 hunts Same Spot

Sorry for this post being so delayed but here are my 2 hunts from 4/11/10

Hunt 1: At a 1800's tavern, I hunted the rear of the property near some swampy area. Didn't get much but nails and glass and a heavy iron chain
Hunt 2: Later that day at the tavern, the owner tipped me off of his 8 year old son finding shards of pottery and such at the side of the property and said I might have some really good luck there, he was right
- 1888 IH, Unknown curved pointy iron tool head, Unknow 3 layered thing with some weaving on the inside, and old shards from old plates, and some loop thing, and a modern but weirdish bullet

nice ih she cleaned up nice i like the glass and pottery the metal tube thingy im not sure on tho but nice finds keep working it over

Stove pipe how would it still have cloth weaving on the INSIDE from all the heat?

I think the tool is an very old shovel. They had 2 pieces of metal (front and back) where the handle was and the area below the handle. The loop pice looke like a broekn snaffle bit for a horse.

Stove pipe was my first thought. The fabric could be asbestos insulator between the two layers, be careful. That IH is really nice.

The pointed iron think is a culivator point. They would ware out and would be replaced. lost a few myself when I was a kid on my fathers farm.

I dont think the thing is a stove pipe cause it has the cloth instert thing but has like some braiding tool thing attached to the cloth
