sweet lot there! it's still technically early here in ny, but we've been finding them for a week or more now, although not in numbers like we were in the last two springs.
hoping this rain will make something happen. enjoy!

Wow, those are some nice toadstools! Just kidding. I have often wanted to go "shrooming" with someone who knew the difference because I see lots of mushroom looking things in the woods here but don't know enough about them to stay safe. Monty

The "Yellow Brick Bank Restaraunt" in Shepherdstown buys them for $250.00 a lb.

Nice haul of shrooms! Ticks me off when we order pizza, kids won't even eat the piece that they were scraped off of. I was taught to hunt 'em at an early age here in Mich, and we have also hunted for giant puffball, brother used to get sick smelling 'em cook, lol!

Re: Mushroom hunting with the family. Found "61"! Mushroom Cache!

When I was younger in Ohio, I would sell my shrooms to the local diner. The guy would pay me 40 dollars a lb, one year I picked over 3 lbs. I was a happy little camper.

Re: Mushroom hunting with the family. Found "61"! Mushroom Cache!

Nice funji!

If you want to find them every (many) year in the same location take scissors with you. Cut them at ground level and smile. If they are pulled out of the soil with soil on the end of the stem, chances are that they will not "fruit" again in the same location next spring.

Easily the best shrooms around!
