point hunt turns to a crusty copper, and what might be a rare button?? help.

so it was one of them days were i went on a quick stroll looking for some points.... well i found everything else but points.. all eye detecting :laughing9: crusty copper is a 40 sumthing wheat. some glass for the fish tanks,, Lil tank... and what looks to be a very nice GOOD YEAR'S P=T.1851. N.R.Co. button. has full shank.. need some help on this type, if any button masters have run across this one... hope to get back in the dirt tomorrow, and finish up the roadtrip... best of digs to all :icon_salut: MR TUFF

Your button is a civilian type button. Goodyear made many types of hardrubber buttons.

That's a nice button . . . haven't come across any in my hunts . . .

Agreed,quite common in 1850's sites :thumbsup:
