Well as you may know its Morel season and today I found my first 19 for the season, a few yellows but mostly greys. Well after the hunt I strung them up and dried them out and now they will always be on hand for whenever. If you hunt for morels let me know as I would love to go out again and get as much as possible this season. I know its not much compaired to others finds but where I live it highly competitive. :icon_pirat:

*Update - 4/28/10 I found 45 more Morels.

** Update - 4/29/10 I found 60 more Morels.

Were those by a downed tree?

I went today with no luck. I hear it's best just after a rain.

Better than gold... OK, almost better than gold.

They were all found by newly dead elm trees, I say newly dead as the trees still had some dead leaves on them. I am going to go out again here in a few hours. It rained here 3 days ago and its supposed to rain all weekend so the woods here around Chicago should be filled with them here in a few days. :icon_pirat:

Goodluck, I hope you find a lot soon.

What's the weather like right now for you? I was going to wait till Fri to go out but I think you live close enough that our weather conditions are probably very similar. Today it is about 65 degrees. I have found about 11 prior to the rain 3 days ago....went Mon and nothing..

Also, i think that they prob are better to EAT than gold...at least.
