2 cent,seated,09's x2, good month and great start to May.
HI All!
Had a good month overall when I could get out, lots of Indians, silver dimes, what's its, token, etc. Two hunts for turkey and scored two big tom's a few shrooms. (Will add to that now with rain and warmth) Yesterday at an old farmhouse my nephew owns a couple hour drive from home was a surprise to say the least. Wife went to go to a jewlery party and had me chauffer her there.
Nephew stated homestead was by a returning Civil War soldier and the land was deeded to him for his outstanding service to the country. He built the home in the 1870 or so era. Home was added to several times. Yard not big but nice to work.
Got out of truck talked with nephew a bit and started detecting. The first coin I dug on a iffy signal shocked me a bit, 1856 O seated at about 9" deep, soil conditions were good and damp. I changed the E-trac to Iron Mask and proceded to find 22 wheats, that included two 1909's, plains, but two from one yard. I need some help though, there is a what'sit head that obviously had something else hanging on it with a huge bowtie with the initial :B: in the center of the bowtie. Overall in about 2.5 hours of detecting I dug 55 coins. Both the older pieces were found amongst some square nails. E-Trac was doing its thing. Hope you enjoy the pics as it was a good start and great month for me to boot. Hardrock P.S.forgot the 2. center 1867 will add pic later and the 10 indians including an 1879,rough but readable. The token is good for 5 cents but only has a capital T on the obverse side?Any thoughts on that would help too. Hardrock P.S. Have e-Trac s in stock!!
