but now I at least own one...

With two little ones it is hard to find time to detect on weekends so I try to get out during my lunch hours during the work week. One park I've been hitting for the last couple of years has really produced well for me. Finds ranging from a Spanish cob, hard times token, LCs, and all sorts of silver but nothing earlier then Barbers on the silver front (except for the cob). Although this park has been great I wanted to find new ground to hunt so I decided to try a park that has always intimidated me when I drove by. The people hanging out in the park are not your typical contributors to society. Lots of drinking and I'm sure other stuff going on but I figured what the hell.

I've hunted the park a handful of times with no problems and I've found some silver. I have not found it yet but I can smell a seated coin in this park. Once I get through all the liquor caps and other junk.

Here are some of the finds...enjoy.

Spoon is 6 inches long...can anyone help with an ID and age range?

The spoon is solid silver...other then washing some dirt that was stuck in the design it is as I found it.

Keep @ it and Happy Safe Hunting !! :D ;D

Thanks MUD...The area is patrolled pretty hard by the local police and I've started making friends with the locals which makes me feel safer.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

Excellent finds, curious, was the handle of the spoon supposed to be wrapped around in a circle? As a mothers helper when held?

Might be Belle Rose or Damask Rose pattern as late as 1960's. Still a very attractive thingy :hello2:

Thanks...I'll have to check those out. I looked through a bunch of patterns on the internet but could not find a match. I have not reached out to the company yet.

Carl,
I think the waves in the handle are just part of the design. I don't believe it was made to bend into a circle. The design fits surprisingly well into my hand.
