Coppers, Buttons & Relics.

Took a ride out to a dirt trail where some former old home sites once stood. My last 5 hunts along these roads produced some very nice finds. Today was no different, I was shocked myself when i emptied my pockets at home.
My first signal was the Large Cent, rang in clear as a bell at 7+ inches down, I had my camera so I got a nice shot of it in the mud just last week I found 2 large cents here and the batwing buckle and about 10 flat buttons. also, you may recognise the lighter, the one from last week had an egyption insignia on it, but the same style. As you can see the 2 cent piece & large cent came out like crap. maybe a few soaks in peroxide will help the 2 cent, seems like mostly green crud. Oh, if theres any button experts out there who can id these, that`ll be great, the bugle one looks familiar but can find any info, Ok, hope you all enjoy the pics,

did you just detect the mud road? was there gravel on it? that would be tough digging...very cool finds

Nice finds,

I have the same button. Post office button civil war era. Other button is 1812 era. I don't know at this moment what excatly it is though. Some one will chime in. Those are my kind of finds.

the closest i can find is here, the loops at the top are different tho, and the one i have has nothing on the back.

did you just detect the mud road? was there gravel on it? that would be tough digging...very cool finds

yes, actually the 2cent piece was right in the middle of the road, less then 3inches down. it was a good signal, so i dug.
but there are also many foundation sites and many people once walked these old roads.

Not uncommon for variants to have slight differences in design, and different, or no makers mark. It definitely made the day worth while!
