I got out today for a few hours!!

I started detecting and the second hit was a dime, when i reached down to use my pinpointer i saw the end of a bracelet or necklace draped over the top of the dime which was at an angle in the sand!!

I thought cool another silver for reds wrist when i put it into my pocket and continued detecting!!! about a hour later after some clad and allot of trash my phone started ringing i answered and because I'm on call 24/7 for my job as a apartment maintenance tech I had to go in and switch out a fridge that stopped working!! ( Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr).

Well on my way back to continue detecting i stopped by the house to use the facilities and get something to drink, and woke red up coming in.

She asked how i did today then realized it was still 10:30 in the morning and said how come your back so soon, i told her and handed her the bracelet and went back out!!!

A few hours later when i got home she said you need to look at the bracelet under a magnifying glass its not what you said ( i thought d@mn its junk ) It looked like silver and i saw writing on it!!!

This is what i saw ( unable to get a good pic of the markings) first side clasp Italy other side 14kt

Happy dance time 2nd gold of the year 2.4 grams rope chain bracelet Red claimed it. like all of the good stuff i find!!! LOL

not all the time but most of the time if it has Italy it will be a precious metal an NOT plated... I bought a 1/2 ounce bracelet at a yard sale last year for 50 cent I saw Italy an was pretty sure it wasn't plated but couldn't find the mark to save my life... left the yardsale an sat in my car an it took me over 20mins with a loupe to find it.. Turned out to be 14k gold

Funny how women seem to know exactly what things are.... I know I've found something good when 'she' just quietly mosies off and starts cleaning it up. Then they display it to you, on their finger.

I found a nice braclet this last week and I can not any marking on it. I tested it with a magnet and it dose not stick to it. So I am saying it is gold. I have not taken it in to the jeweler yet to find out....Matt
