OLD CHURCH GROUNDS*SILVER*IH'S & A CIVIL WAR TOKEN

bored this afternoon so i took a scooter drive up to this old church yard that has produced in the past.ground was so dry but the Injuns were deep and reading beautiful for some reason. 1885,1887,1896 & 1906.
a no date (1864)patriotic civil war token that reads" ARMY & NAVY (on obverse)
reverse reads "THE FEDERAL UNION MUST and SHALL be PRESERVED"
a 1916 (no D) merc and a 1898 barber dime.
a broken sterling cufflink with initials"MH" and a hallmarked sterling broken butterfly necklace type thing. 7 wheaties and some clad.
a nice few hour hunt.after that i went over to the park and didn't find much except some newer change.

A very nice haul, especially a silver cuff button (the shape is so typical of 1900's - 1920's. It aches to see nice things broken like your butterfly necklace. Last weekend I also found a broken jewellery - a link from sterling silver and gold Edwardian filigree daisy bracelet

thanks! the more i look at the butterfly under a loop...it looks as if that piece was clipped with cutting plyers which is a shame beacuse it is enameled and looks like an older piece

I have the same civil war token,i also found mine at a church built in 1792,nice finds.
