1794 LIBERTY CAP LARGE CENT*BATWING BUCKLE*BUTTONS

Frank picked me up this morning at 7am hunted till 12:30 pm.hit a few cellar holes.
quite a few buttons all plain one piece.another batwing buckle,a 1864 indian head and finally got a liberty cap large cent.
been on my wish list for awhile. kinda rough but you can clearly see the 1794.the back is wiped out.

Always seem to be from New England or New York. We have never found one here and most of our sites probably date to the right time frame.

so what is the verdict on these batwing buckles now? colonila?post colonial? are they horse tack related buckles?

Don't think anyone has clearly answered that, but I would say post Colonial, and yes, horse related. You'd think we'd know this by now.

Nice job on the Liberty Cap Large Cent, I have a feeling that will be on my wish list for a long time. You always hunt some nice old sites and make some great finds. Congrats!!
