Had a great time with Tom76 Yesterday. we hit an old house that was built around 1865, I dug this watch fob with a sub, I think it may be the USS Moniter from 1862 Ironclad days, but I am doing some more research to verify my guess, I have read in the past, that some fobs were made from the actual metal from the ship as souvenirs. I will post the rest of my finds later this week thanks for looking.

So what the hell is it on there?

Nothing that I can see on the back side. I wish it had a date or smoekind of mark that I could lookup.

No, I meant what is the design? Ship? Sub? (but you might have answered my question)

Oh its not an specific submarine but more of a generic WWI sub, at least that's what people thought when I posted it the 1st time. LOL

Poor Van.... he was at my house for the weekend while my wife was gone with the kids to a wedding and she took the camera. I think both the pipes coming up look like smokestacks. Hopefully we can figure out what it is. I'll post my finds from the same site tonight.

Really nice fob. Looks like a sub, for sure. Probably more like a WWI sub.
Cool find none the less!
