I spent an hour scouting a new location for civil war relics. It’s in the woods so the shade is nice but between the heat, undergrowth, and poison ivy it can wear you out. Finds were few and far between but the area has potential. Found a bullet with teeth marks, part of a horse shoe, and a 1923 merc. I need to spend a little more time in this area. Thanks for looking.

God Bless
Mike

Very nice finds  Possible explanation on the bullet...

Back before the times of anesthetics, pain killers & modern medicine, if a soldier was wounded in combat and needed surgery, they normally gave him a few shots (down the throat) of whiskey or some other strong alcohol to help dull the senses. Many times, the soldiers were then told to bite down on a bullet to help deal with what would have been brutally, excruciating pain - thus leaving bite marks on the ammo.

Don't know if that's the story on YOUR bullet obviously, but, it's a good possibility.

Keep at it :icon_sunny:
