Hi, I stopped at a yard sale Yesterday morning and the homeowner said she was moving. I started asking about her house and she told me it was a sears catalog home built around 1903! She also told me it was originally the parsonage(preachers house) for the church that used to be next door(it's was torn down a long time ago) anyway she gave me permission to hunt the yard after the yard sale was over. I showed up at 4:00 and got started right away. I started with my 6in. excellerator coil and wasn't finding much, I think somethings wrong with it. I was getting a lot of chatter and falsing! I swapped it out for my 10x12 SEF coil and that's when things started hitting!! I had told one of my hunting buddies that morning that I would love to find a standing liberty quarter because I had never found one. He was with hunting another part of the yard when I got this really good silver signal and I called him over when I found the clump of dirt with a silver rim poking out.
I opened the clump in front of him an we both about crapped when I saw the back of a standing liberty quarter!! He mentioned what I said that morning about wanting to find one, and without missing a beat, I looked at him and said " I really would love to find a $20.00 gold piece" we both started laughing and I had him get my camera from the truck about 15 feet away so i could finally get a picture of a coin still in the clump! anyway, to make a long story short. I found a total of 6 silvers!! three quarters, and three dimes. the breakdown is as follows: dateless type two standing liberty quarter, two washingtons, 1941 plain and 1941s. two mercs, a 1918s and a 1944d, and a single rosie 1954 plain. forget to take photos of them after cleaning them up so here are what pics I have. thanks.
