BETWEEN THREE JOBS AND THE WIFE'S NEVER ENDING CHORE LIST I AM LUCKY IF I CAN GET OUT FOR 2 HOURS A WEEK TO SWING THE DETECTOR. I FOUND A 1930 WHEAT PENNY IN MY CHANGE YESTERDAY AND IF THAT'S ALL I CAN FIND THIS WEEK I'LL TAKE IT. SOMETHING EVEN A LOWLY WHEAT PENNY IS BETTER THAN NONE.

We have changed currencies 4 times since the Wheat cent was born here in Europe. I once found a 1939 Ten Pfenning coin in my change pocket with a swastika, now we have the new recycled bubble gum wrapper Euro in circulation, no chance of finding an old coin in pocket change.
