It was the very first coin that I dug when I got to the spot my brother and I nicknamed the trashpit cause of lot's of trash, well the spot is where there use to be about 16 homes that have been torn down and I was hunting one of the trashiest area's with my V3i with the little 4x6DD coil, it was right between where the 2 row's of houses use to be and that's where all the cistern's and ashpits are. Actually I was more excited about the gold case on the watch but when I found out just how scarce the V nickel is the watch don't hold a candle to the nickel. The nickel was the only older coin that I found there today.

I was pretty sure the case was gold so I tested it on my Mizar M24 gold tester and it tested 10K three times in a row.

That's a Banner coin!
Looks in about good condition, but doesn't show that much "freshly dug" wear. Could pass as undug, in my book.
Kudos.

Well done on that key date! Also, a key date AND GOLD in the same day! That's awesome! Bulova is a nice watch company as well. Not what they used to be, but good once as they'll ever be.

I had to throw this pic in here cause I found a Bulova watch last year in a football field that was about 2 inches down, I never thought it would work but with a new battery and lube it's still working great on my wrist ;D

GREAT nickless 1885 nick! Pretty nice gold Bulova watch, too. Gold might be worth more, but I prefer the nickel: better than mine.
