Today was the first time that I have picked up the Minelab in weeks. Busy getting firewood ready. etc. Everything is like a jungle around here too.
I decided to do a scouting mission at a spot that I just got permission to hunt. Very early place for my area. My research tells me that this was one of the earliest settled spots in my town.

I was going to just hit the easy spots and do a quick cherry pick to see what might be around. My second decent signal was reading as a repeating 40 on my 705. Hoping for maybe a copper I was surprised to see a colonial shoe buckle sitting in the dirt! This is my first shoe buckle and something that has been near the top of my wish list for a while now. She is a little bent but thats OK with me!

I dont really expect to find too much until spring time. This place has grass and weeds as tall as me. I can feel more good things to come ;D

Now that is what I am Colonially talking about. :notworthy: :headbang: It looks like a crude 1770s shoe buckle. I am still waiting for my first complete frame as well. It is good to hear from you again!

You may get a kick out of knowing that when I found the buckle, I thought of Kirk PA. I know how you are craving a shoe buckle of your very own
Dont feel too bad, I still have not been able to find my first King George :icon_scratch:

They're tough here too! I have found more rare buttons than I have shoe buckles.

Good to cross off the list, but now you have to move up to an intact one.

That's a nice first for you VPR. I still have not found one either. I've found the guts of one before. Once those weeds are down you will find more goodies. If you don't cut the weeds yourself then early spring the snow from winter may do the job of weighing them down for you. Good research.
