Me and Heavymetalnut went Back to the sites we found last week, didnt do so good around the cellar hole so i started hitting all the fields it paid off.I found my first 1783 Nova Constellatio,2 Dandy buttons and some kind of buckle.Theres still a lot of dirt packed on the Nova Constellatio,i just hit it with a very soft toothbrush as you can see the coin has a lot of detail.

Killer finds!! I'd love to find a Nova!!

Speaking of Dandy buttons... I believe I may have found a GW button today or something similar... The size is right as is the blank back and shank, however there aren't any details left due to corrosion I suspect (it's very thin at this point). The reason I suspect a GW or something similar is that the button has been "Holed" like a coin would be. In your and Heavymetal's experience since you dig many dandy's. Have you ever come across "Holed" buttons?? I would think that someone would only "hole" a button to wear as a keepsake or to protect it from being lost. Any suggestions??

That Nova is killer! Don't you just love sites that date back to the time when our Founding Fathers were walking the dirt roads of yesteryear?

most GW buttons i've seen even dilapidated ones hold some detail.so,i really can't answer your question.i've seen dandy buttons with 2 holes made if shank was broke off.maybe it had somebody's loved ones name engraved on it and wore it.i'm not sure. sorry dude
