After studying some old aerial photo's we decided to try a couple of Roman Trackways next to the Wow Field, just incase there were anymore sites. Spent 3 hours with nothing but the odd button, its positive in some ways as we can knock them off the list for awhile. We then decided to check a couple of the mapped limits of the Wow Field & in 1.5 hours we got 2 scrappies each, bad condition but just tips us over 800 for this year :tongue3:

Sadly we had a better options, but you can't roll a 6 everytime :icon_thumright:

I considered the button a good find & the nice crotal bell a bonus. 4 grots just about saved a bust today :D

The other option which was available (seeded tomorrow) was where I got my first Celtic Gold :-\

Aerial photographs do not always work to perfection .... I think best is walking on the ground and be lucky. ::)

The best way is always on foot with a detector, we have many good fields with no cropmarks. Land-Mag normally field walks for pottery plus a few minutes detecting, he had found a nice Samian Shard & a Celtic Belt Mount, so a couple of signs were there & I'm sure with lots of effort we may get a few things, but it doesn't make it to the top of our list. (as the signs I got was its not a site)
