I bet the ring made from 1 silver quarter and either a second coin or silver bar stock of some type - the eagle was cut out of the quarter and the other item was formed into the ring and the silver eagle applied to it

That's one cool looking ring there aa battery!
I wonder if it might have been made for somebody
who was ex-military?

WOW!!! As a Silver Smith, I can only say; "That is truly a one-of-a-kind find"!!
I know that there are a couple of "Silver Smiths" on this forum, and I'm sure they are also aware of the time involved in cutting out, dressing and conturing the eagle to fit the ring. (Which was apparently hand-made just for this piece of jewelry.)
In all honesty, if I were to contract to make a ring like that, I would set a price of at least $250.00 on it.
Congratulations aa on a GREAT FIND!!!

Hi AA,
Great ring.
Reminds me a little bit of a past banner find:
http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.p...ic,333674.html
Could be another example of trench art?? That quarter design was around during WWII so it is possible.
