I detected half a city block today where some old buildings used to be. This area was like hunting in the city dump. There were trash signals everywhere, but I managed to pull out these finds. The Seated quarter has seen better days. The hole, of course, is right where the date was. It's an 185 something.
This is only my second seated coin for the year, and can't get a date out on either of them. :'(

Good work bk! However, I think maybe the watch needs a little cleaning LOL!

I really like these types of digs.

WOW!!! Excellent finds!!! With the age of some of those buildings in the background, I can see why you chose to detect there. I think I would have to go back some more. WTG!!! HH

Not bad. I'd take any seated quarter. ;D IH is nice.

So how do you deal with the trash? You just cherry pickin? I use my Whites Classic III and crank the discrimination up all the way. Works great in trashy areas.

It's quite a challenge to hunt a trashy site like that. When you can walk away at the end of the day with finds like that...it makes it all worthwhile. HH!
