Just returned from 3 weeks in England. gold coin X2 Pic's added

Was in England for 3 weeks October 1st to 22nd. Got some nice hammered silver coins, a roman silver and 2 gold coins

First on came on the 14th A 70 bc Celtic gold 1/4 stater Morini type


Second one was on the 20th, A George III 1/4 guinea 1762

Great finds Ron! I want to go back, but the wife says I have to take her and my daughter on a vacation there first!
I was there in 07 and arrived the day Christie found a huge axe head laying on the surface.
Can't wait to get back there again!
One day I'd like to take advantage of one of your barn hunts.

I just looked at this again & thought it looks a little big in the hand for a qrter are you sure its not a 1/2 ? It makes a huge different in price

SPINK 2010:

1/4 - F £140, VF £325, EF £550 - circa 16mm
1/2 - F £475, VF £1250, EF £3000 - circa 20mm

Is it hard to bring stuff back when you find it? How weird are the laws
on stuff you find and how do you set up to detect over there?
