MODIFIED - 1942 Mercury Dime, 1974 Weeble & an EUB religious medallion

Hi Everyone and Happy Halloween,

I enforced the "parent tax" on my kid's trick or treat candy, which resulted in a massive sugar buzz.
So I decided to grab the detector and work off some of those Snicker Bars.

After four hours in two different locations, I came up with some pretty good Halloween loot for myself.

Yes, that's a 1974 Mattel "Weeble"...that's a first for me.

Here's the good stuff:

1942MercDime.jpg

Absolutely stunning 1942 Mercury Dime. THRILLED! Only my 2nd Merc. (Ya, I'm a newbie)

And check this out:

EUBMedallion.jpg

This is the first time I've seen a religious Medallion from the EUB.
MODIFIED: A friend alerted me to the fact that the EUB's merged with the Methodists in 1968, so this medallion is at least that old. Thanks, Rob!

Here's hoping you have some scary-good finds on Halloween!

Thanks Goes!

I think it's been awhile since the EUB has been refered to as such (at least around here), so this medallion may have a few years on it.

Super Merc!....the detail is very crisp, that one wasn't long in circulation. No sweat on the "newbie" stuff, so am I and you are now one ahead of me on Mercs! :notworthy: The medal is very nice, as well.

Thank Roland - You're right. That Merc wasn't in someone's pocket very long. I've had my Detector for a few months, and am just now starting to really be able to "read" it. Kinda hate to see Winter come along - I've got some places that will probably have to wait till Spring!

Nice digs. My day was in a field found plenty of debris, decorative molding and half of a spoon

Nice finds Digger!! I'm at this hobby (obsession) for about 5 years now and I still get excited when I see a Merc (or any silver) coming out of the ground. I get real excited when I see the back first and see those two little words "one dime"!!

Congrats!

Thanks Dave - I've had a good week for silver. 1902 Barber Dime and this 1942 Merc. Gotta love seeing silver in the bottom of that hole!
