1851 Eagle Sword Belt Plate

Just found one an hour ago,I'm pretty sure it is genuine.The old homesite has been detected many times ,don't how I missed it before.

It was between 4-5 inches deep.

Can't post a picture of it but I'll post a link that I used to identify it .The one in the picture is maybe a little better condition than mine,mine has a lot of patina.

The site is only about 100 yards from my house,I hunt there when I only have a few minutes to spare.I went back over after I posted the buckle ,didn't get a single beep in a 10 feet radius around where I dug the plate.

Until today it has been a fairly unproductive site.I'm sure going to hit the whole area hard.

Any find like that is super great. I found a Louisiana Officers Buckle about two years ago and coouldnt sleep for two days. I know the feeling!! ;D ;D ;D

Hey Hasbeen, Thats a fantastic find. My brother found one in 2004 and I found one in 2005. When you pick it up out of the soil, you just don't believe it. Congrats...Lance
