Hi All :hello:

Didn´t think i would be back so soon,but i just wanted to post my Celtic stater that i found just two hours ago.

This is the first celtic anything i have found since doing this hobby (six yrs)and a gold one to bat :o

Unfortunately there are no symbols on it ,only on the edge on one side can i see anything. :'(

I think it will be almost impossible to find out wich celtic tribe,but who cares,it´s a keeper :headbang:

Jeff..

Hey Silver

It was found in lower Franconia Bavaria Germany.
Looks a bit like one of these...but a long way from home :dontknow: CORIELTAUVI - NORTH LINCS SCYPHATE but just could have been struck on very worn dies, the Scyphate was very deeply dished, we call them Tit staters :)

Did I talk to you a few days ago at the Graf Army mess hall? That looks like a quarter stater that was not hammered, still a beautiful find. HH, Mike

Good for you.

Can't imagine what it would be like to pop a gold coin. I'd keep it too.

Hey All

@Silver
Thx for trying :icon_thumleft:

For anyone interested i found out its probably from the Celtic Vindelikern tribe of southern Germania (Alpine foreland) minted/hammerd between 200-80 B.C. They were subdued by Roman legions 15 B.C.
