Wow, Bulltab! Sounds like you're raking it up! Maybe you could offer some pointers on construction sites-- what to look for, where/how to ask permission, etc.? All I seem to get is nails and staples from construction areas.

i've been detecting for 20 yrs, this place they are removing, replacing the curb street and sidewalks, there is an old school and a church on this 5 block stretch of const.the best places to hit IMO are under the sidewalks especially the edges for some reason, hit the boulevards right away too because those are being ripped up too, just because ya dont hit anything the first time doesnt mean theres nothing there, hit them places 3-4 times.Dig everything because its ripped up anyway, today i found 1908 ihc,1920 wheat,1927 wheat,1903o barber dime, and a 1972 half, plus the usual clad.. any question please ask MARK

Post some pics! Sounds like the right spot. I saw one of these in old Coronado a few years ago and was tempted. Should have done it, but it was right on the main street. Oh, well. Next time I will not miss the opportunity. It was not even being worked on at the time I saw it.

Way to go Bulltab!!! In 1996 they did a project like this at a county courthouse near here that was erected around 1880. The large courthouse lawn had been beat to death by detectors through the years, and you couldn't find a wheatie - even with top flight operators and machines. They busted out the old curbs and dug for the new sidewalks and voila - Indian Heads, V's, Barbers - it was GREAT!!!
