Hi TN , 12- 10 These are the some of the last coins for 2010 coming out of the mill site . A KG I , no date Britannia , 1858 Seated quarter , and the oldest and shocking coin , Hispania 1621 copper :icon_scratch:

. Many cool relics are still being found but the coins are now far and in between . I will keep pounding this place until it turns to concrete ! update 12-10 7:00 Est mill pic #5,5, & 7 Update Last Pics 12-16 Shovel holding on by a thread ; found Thurs. mourning , a silver knife , 2 IH cents , another :icon_scratch:

it will be awhile till the ground gets hard . the leafs help keep the ground soft . good hunt

That bottle was in use here in the USA until about 1900. I have dug several of them out of later dumps.

Nice finds 'Dawg! First time I've seen that Spanish Coin. Maybe HISPAN can tell us something.

Good stuff Dawg. Bet that was a shocker when you saw the date on that one. Too bad the seated has a hole, looks to be in great shape. Hope you can hit that place a few more time before the ground freeze's. :icon_thumright:

That's exactly right! The more old targets you dig the better chances you have. But location and type of site does obviously make a difference.

But I'll take one more of any site this year if I can get it!

It is very rare to find a coin of King Philip Maravedis Eight IIII in USA (Best said .... it would be very rare to find anywhere in America) only copper coins circulated in Europe that were prohividas in America.
If you look at the back next to the Castle you see a Roman bridge put aside, this is the mark of the mint of Segovia ... who is this beautiful city.

That's guys for all the info and comments . A Maravedis, Philip III or IV ? ..cool ...Thanks . The King Philip Maravedis IV coin pre dates my area by at least 100 years .. :sign13:

Must of been lost by European settler later than 1720. I just came back from there after 3 hour search , broke my trusty G.I. WWII shovel that was with me for a long time :'(

& what I thought was a large cent turned out to be another foreign coin

I am not sure , why I have a International bunch of stuff popping out of this place but this is getting to be more fun than I expected .

Best for 2011 8) I was shocked and it took awhile to figure out where the date was

that is old ,old ,old . How it survived even 350 + years here I'll never know :icon_scratch:

usually good for awhile longer , but you can never tell with late Dec.
