went to the trash pit park today Again for the 30 or 40 ith timegot frustrated after 2 hours of clad and bottle caps and beaver pulls!so started back to the car i was a good 150-200 feet from it ,turned off the detector.so i say self WTF are you doing "detect back to the car"..well half way to the car i get a sweet smooth mellow tone ,quite ,but repeatable , but its there. so im like "o great another stupid 67 dime" slice the plug..pop it out da hole and i see a small white disc ,heart skips a beat "dont be a rosie ,dont be a rosie" BAM 34 merc in ef condition ,considering its been dug at about 4-6 or so!!!!!this park is weird man tabs, rusty bottle tops modern trash basically at up to 4-6...i have new found hope!
FINALLY did the happy dance for a second or 2 ;D
ps thanks DAVE -ENC ;)

Sweet! A happy dance moment indeed.

You must have found some good stuff there before though, if you went to a trash-pit 30 or 40 times????

Re: hunted out trash pit park

Be glad to help, but the first thing you need is a server to upload your files/pictures to and they will have to be resized, I use 30-50 kilobyte sized photos in my posts and use Irfanview software, it's freeware. I think there is a way to upload them to the W&E forum but I don't know how, but just learned. There are other people on the forum wondering how to post pictures and how to post multiple pictures. I looked through the site and here's the link from W&E on how to upload. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/board,303.0.html This will be easy, just follow the yellow brick road and read directions. Ask if you have questions, a tip, I have directory files (New Folder) called Work1 etc. that I download the camera to, after resizing the photo I save it to a Directory called Finds1 etc. named the date and what the photo is, something like 26May06coins. Hope you try it out and give it a read, always nice to see pics of finds! HH, Mike

Way ta go! :o

What? You were praying it wasn't a silver Rosie? ??? Man I'd flop down on the ground and roll for 20 feet if I found a silver Rosie. With a Merc I require smelling sauce!

Re: hunted out trash pit park

Now that's a good story. That's the thing with detecting...you never know what's going to turn up where. That's why you always detect back to the car. ;D That is the one thing I like about the Minelab Quattro - rarely dig any beaver tails.

Good luck going back.
