Mammoth Ski Resort reports up to 17 FEET of snow on the ground; ten feet of snow within a recent four day period. Back in the day.......snow like this might provide skiiing conditions on the 4th of July; and if you skied on the 4th, you would have received a 'free pass' for skiiing the following Christmas Day.
Merry Christmas to all.

Great finds there pistol perfect! :o Heard it finally stopped raining there.
Love the crock (looks like a butter crock) and the Ball sealer jar! :icon_thumright:

Is there a date on the bottom of that Ball jar? :icon_scratch:

Just a little "Old mans trivia"; I use to go to small wrecking yards looking for these older wheel covers, because I could use (part of) them in my gold/mercury recovery. I don't remember what year it was discontinued, but older wheel covers were made in two(?) parts. Kind of like clad coins. ;D

First, there was a sheet of fairly heavy steel, then a thinner sheet of chromed zinc was placed on top of it, then they went through a press that formed the shape and logo on it. So, I would take a couple of tools, (screwdriver and pliers,) and peel the outer layer off of the inner layer of steel.

I could then use little pieces of the outer layer of zinc to recover the mercury from the acid I used to remove the mercury from the gold. Saved a bit of money that way.

Today, the zinc would be worth saving for it's scrap value. I believe it will increase in value as the Gov. uses more and more for coinage. :dontknow:
