Hey All,
VP here, well it warmed up a little bit today and was bearable (38, no wind) so Paco and I got out to do a little swinging. Unfortunately the frost was about 6 inches into the ground so digging was next to impossible even with Paco's chisel and hammer (yup we're die hards) An average hole was taking about 20 minutes to dig ... whew ...
The cool thing though is near the end of the hunt we stumbled on to another site. Probably colonial as there was the old, old pottery literally EVERYWHERE, it was right near the river and there were lots and lots of good targets ..... but it will have to wait for another day .... I did manage to find this nice copper spoon right on top the ground as we were leaving. You can still see a little of the silver coating on it, so that was cool.
take care and stay warm !
