So I was out at a large indoor community tag sale where I live and after about 15 minutes of sifting through stuff I found a locked cash box with a $5 price tag on it. It definitely sounded like coins and was pretty heavy so I decided what the hey and bought it. It took a little bit of work with a hacksaw to get it open but I was very surprised when I got it. Items included:

1995 American Eagle Silver Dollar
25 Gram Eisenhower Silver Bar
46 Wheat Pennies (Oldest 1928)
1 Indian Head Penny (1902)
1 Barber Dime (1909)
3 Mercury Dimes (1923, 1935 & 1943)
2 Silver Rosies (both 1946)
3 Jefferson Nickels (1946, 1949, & 1953)
3 Silver Quarters (1953, 1954, 1963(the '63 is a beautiful coin))
1 Ben Franklin Half (1962)
4 Silver Kennedy Halves (2x1964, 1967, 1969D)
50 Clad Kennedy Halves
17 Eisenhower Dollars (4 Bicentennial)
7 $1 Silver Certificates (1935D, 1957, 4x1957A, 1957B)
6 $2 Bills (1963, 1963A, 4x1976)
Misc Foreign Coins (Germany, Bermuda, Canada, etc...)

Overall face value of $66.47 just alone not a bad $5 investment. This is my first real "find" for coins when I wasn't out specifically looking for coins. Good way to find some stuff when it's 10 degrees and snow-covered out.

HH everyone and thanks for looking.

Apparently they just didnt know what was in it and marked it cheap since it didn't have the keys for it.

Super Score!
The church & town sales can yeild some awesome finds,
But a locked box with that many coins clanging inside?
what ARE they thinking :dontknow:
A couple years back
I bought a small box of costume jewelery & watches for $5,
2 of the watches were 14k, both ladies & both working, just broken bands,
Also a swiss made 'Desta Incabloc' automatic mens 21j, also working.
Another sale yielded a jar of old buttons for 50c with 2 pristine CW era NH Vol Militia coat buttons.
Needless to say, I attend every sale I can find now!
great stuff, thanks for posting

W is on the back right under the left wing

http://silvereagleguide.com/1995-w-proof-american-silver-eagle/

1995 P is worth 35-740 an the P is right under left wing... If there is no mint mark then it is bullion

http://www.numismedia.com/cgi-bin/c...&nmcode=18818600&guide=prices&guide2=pricesms

current price is 2300.00 which is for MS 60 probly the lowest possible grade... most W are Ms65 or higher

http://www.numismedia.com/cgi-bin/c...&nmcode=18818700&guide=prices&guide2=pricesms

Also is the coin starting to turn colors (toning) leave it alone DO NOT CLEAN..some people will pay more for naturely toned coins!
